On Thursday, June 21st a large shipment of banker’s boxes and strangely shaped packages arrived at UBC Rare Books and Special Collections. The twenty-six pieces comprise the recent accrual to the already substantial Douglas Coupland fonds.
Three student archivists at the University of British Columbia are in charge of organizing and preserving said accrual, which contains “everything from large-scale sculptures to screenplays to clothing lines.” Coupland also included some of his old movie stubs, because of course he did. (This is the same guy who once put on an art show at my alma mater [also known as UBC’s petulant little brother] as a means of clearing out his library.)
Read the archivists’ blog here. They’ve got a long summer ahead of them.
